Are you taking the MCAT in the 2025-2026 application cycle? Have you heard how challenging the CARS section can be? Are you trying to think of tactics to improve your score? The Preprofessional Advising Office is excited to announce our new book club, PPAO Book Dawgs, this fall to help students prepare for the CARS section. The AAMC states that "this section is unlike the other sections of the exam because it does not require specific content knowledge." How can you prepare and practice? One way is for exam takers to immerse themselves in various topics from different types of literature. While this club targets future MCAT exam takers, anyone with a prehealth intent may attend.
The first meeting is this Tuesday, September 10th, from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM, in MLC 251. The first book we will discuss is Every Patient Tells a Story: Medical Mysteries and the Art of Diagnosis by Lisa Sanders. The book is available as an e-book or audiobook. Come out even if
you need to finish reading the book! Attendees will help pick the selection for October.
Meetings will be on the second Tuesday of every month. If you have questions, please
email Michele Johnson.
Interested in meeting and getting advice from current medical students?
