UGA – Warnell – Conservation Medicine/Conservation Biology

This almost month-long course aims to provide students from various backgrounds with the opportunity to learn and practice the principles of conservation biology/medicine using the ecology and fauna of Costa Rica (an area of rich biodiversity with a long history of conservation research). In addition, we will emphasize Costa Rican history and culture, as they influence conservation.

The three-week ONE HEALTH program is designed for undergraduate students interested in human and veterinary medicine who seek to broaden their understanding of One Health principles, focusing on the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the One Health approach, integrating both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Visit two worlds in one program with UGA’s Maymester to Australia and New Zealand. This program focuses on sustainable development and animal behavior/ natural history. The program is open to all students from UGA and from other institutions (non-UGA students pay in-state tuition), and no prior knowledge is assumed.

UGA – Franklin – Tropical Diseases: Diagnosis, Surveillance, and Prevention in India

This study abroad program is a program housed at the Department of Cellular Biology and the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases (CTEGD) at the University of Georgia, which would take students on a 3-week program of experiential learning to Kerala, India. This program aims to provide students with hands-on experience in zoonotic and veterinary disease diagnostics.

UGA Cortona Science & Art History – Maymester 2026

This program provides a challenging opportunity for the serious student who wishes to combine international travel with an intensive period of classroom work while merging with the lifestyle and culture of a typical Italian community. Students live in a newly renovated 15th century monastery that provides premium studio spaces and living quarters with historic surroundings. UGA – FACS – Ghana Service-Learning Program

This Summer Service-Learning Program in Ghana is designed as a practicum encompassing hospital observations, hands-on practice in health and nutrition screenings in selected communities, and lectures in nutrition/dietetics and public health issues in Ghana. The program introduces students to the way of life of Ghanaians and provide an opportunity for students to learn through hands-on involvement of the perceptions diverse cultures have about food and nutrition and their health.

UGA – Law – Global Governance Summer School

Each summer, students spend a total of two weeks in Brussels, Belgium; Leuven, Belgium; and The Hague, Netherlands, as part of GGSS. In each location, students will engage in lectures, formal classroom discussions, site visits, and group projects that explore a theme within the topic of global governance, defined as the interaction of state, regional, and international legal regimes, plus individuals, corporations, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations, networks, and other non-state actors.
