Course Requirements
Typical Nursing Pre-Requisites include:
- Anatomy & Physiology I and II (CBIO 2200/L and CBIO 2210/L)
- Microbiology with lab (MIBO 2500/L or MIBO 3500/L)
- Human Growth & Development (HDFS 2200)
- Chemistry (CHEM 1211/L and sometimes CHEM 1212/L)
- Biology (BIOL 1103/L and 1104/L or BIOL 1107/L and 1108/L or BIOL 1103/L and BIOL 1108/L )
- Statistics (STAT 2000 or BIOS 2010)
- Psychology (PSYC 1101)
- Lifespan Development (HDFS 2200)

You will also be required to complete a standardized entrance exam, please consult the website of the schools you want to attend.
Can I pursue a Master's in Nursing program if I don't have a BSN?
While many MSN programs do require that students have a BSN prior to applying, there are some pre-licensure master's programs. In Georgia, these are offered by Augusta University and Emory.
Requirements for admission into the CNL program include:
- Baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited school in any area other than nursing.
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- The following coursepre-requisites:
- Biology (BIOL 1103/L and 1104/L or BIOL 1107/L and 1108/L)
- Chemistry with lab (CHEM 1211/L)
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II (CBIO 2200/L and CBIO 2210/L); completed within the last 10 years.
- Statistics (STAT 2000)
- Microbiology with lab (MIBO 2500/L or 3000/L or 3500 and 3510/L); completed within the last 10 years.
- Human Growth and Development - Lifespan (HDFS 2200)
- GRE (290 total minimum) or MAT (400 minimum) taken within the last 5 years.
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary education
- Current resume or curriculum vitae
Requirements for admission into the MSN program include:
- Baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited school in any area other than nursing.
- Average undergraduate GPA of accepted applicants is 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
- The following coursepre-requisites:
- Biology (BIOL 1103/L and 1104/L or BIOL 1107/L and 1108/L)
- Chemistry with lab (CHEM 1211/L)
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II (CBIO 2200/L and CBIO 2210/L); completed within the last 10 years.
- Statistics (STAT 2000)
- Microbiology with lab (MIBO 2500/L or 3000/L or 3500 and 3510/L); completed within the last 10 years.
- Human Growth and Development - Lifespan (HDFS 2200)
- Human Nutrition and Food (FDNS 2100)
- The GRE can be waived if your cumulative undergraduate GPA is equal to or greater
than 3.5 or if you have completed a master's degree or higher at an accredited institution.
- If you are required to take the GRE, you should aim to score above the 50th percentile.
