Connect With An Advisor
Advisors in the Pre-Professional Advising Office meet with all current UGA students
as well as UGA alumni who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare or law.
We offer one-on-one appointments and walk-ins in addition to various workshops. Please
be advised that we do not clear students for registration.
Fall 2024 Advising
You can choose between an in-person appointment or a virtual appointment in SAGE.
If you choose an in-person appointment, we are located at 130 Memorial Hall. You
will need to check-in at the front desk before making your way to the PPAO waiting
room.
For virtual advising appointments, you will be sent an informational email no later
than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment that will include a Zoom link.
Scheduling an Appointment
You can schedule an appointment with a pre-professional advisor by visiting sage.uga.edu.
To schedule an appointment in SAGE, click "My Success Network." You can either search
for your advisor by name, or to see a full list of the advisors in the office, you
can click "Show Other Services" -> Pre-Professional Advising Office -> Click the appropriate
advisor's name -> Click "Schedule Appointment"
If you are pre-med, pre-allied health, or pre-pharmacy, please pay attention to the
notes below to ensure that you make an appointment with the correct advisor.
Pre-Medical Advising:
- If you are a in your 1st or 2nd year of school, or you have less than 75 credit hours COMPLETED (not currently in-progress), please schedule with Jennifer Letchuk.
- Please note we do not meet with incoming freshman. If you are an incoming student,
you will need to schedule an appointment after classes begin in the Fall.
- If you are a junior, senior, graduate student, or UGA alum, please schedule with Michele Johnson.
Pre-Allied Health Advising:
- Allied Health includes Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Anesthesiologist Assistant,
and Genetic Counseling. If you are interested in any of these areas, please schedule
with Casey Ellis.
- Allied Health is a massive and growing field in Healthcare. Below are some contacts
for other Allied Health fields.
Pre-Pharmacy Advising:
- While the Pre-Professional Advising Office does not work with pre-pharmacy students,
you can still find support from advisors in the UGA College of Pharmacy. To request
an advising appointment, email prepharm@uga.edu.
You can cancel your appointment in SAGE or by emailing the advisor.
Note: Appointments are restricted to current UGA students/alumni and are limited to
one appointment at a time. Multiple appointments scheduled concurrently or those from
prospective students will be removed.
Have A Quick Question?
If you do not need a full appointment and just have a quick question, you are welcome
to come to speak to an advisor during their walk-ins.

Walk-ins are for brief questions only (typically 10-15 minutes). Students with longer
questions should make an appointment. If you have a question and are unable to attend
walk-ins, contact us at premed@uga.edu.
Amanda Spohn, M.Ed
Amanda Spohn joined the Pre-Professional Advising Office in December 2016 and became
the Coordinator in August 2021. Previously, she worked with the pre-dental, veterinary,
and optometry students — helping guide them through the process for gaining admission
into professional school. Prior to joining our office, she was the departmental advisor
for the Lamar Dodd School of Art and worked primarily with sophomore, junior and senior
Art and Art History students. Amanda graduated from The Ohio State University with
a B.A. in Political Science and earned her M.Ed. at Ashland University.

Helaina Honiotes, B.A.
Helaina Honiotes joined the Pre-Professional Advising Office in September of 2024.
She graduated from UGA with her B.A. in English. Before joining our office, Helaina
worked as an administrative assistant in the Travel Clinic of the UGA Health Center.
She has traveled to Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. Helaina is well-versed in the needs
of students due to her personal experience in transferring schools and changing her
major.

Ashley Roseberry, M.A.
Ashley Roseberry joined the Pre-Professional Advising Office in April 2020. She works
with the pre-law students — helping guide them through the process for gaining admission
into law school. Prior to joining our office, she was a teaching assistant in the
Department of History here at the University of Georgia.
Ashley graduated from Arizona State University with a B.A. in History. She also completed
a M.A. in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at New York University.

Michele Johnson, M. A.
Michele Johnson joined the Pre-Professional Advising in November 2021. She works with
pre-medical students – primarily third, fourth and alumni pre-med students – to help
guide them through admissions requirements and the application process. Prior to joining
PPAO, she served as an academic advisor for first- and second-year students in the
Honors College. Michele earned master’s degrees at American University and the University
of Georgia. She also holds bachelor’s degrees from Boston University and UGA. She
finds joy in helping students attain their goals.

Jennifer Letchuk, M.S.W.
Jennifer Letchuk joined the Pre-Professional Advising Office in July 2018. She works
with pre-medical students — primarily freshman and sophomores - helping guide them
through the maze of admissions requirements and the application process. Prior to
joining our office, she was a testing assistant at the Disability Resource Center
at the University of Georgia.
Jennifer graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Human Development
and Family Science with a certificate in Disability Studies and a Master's in Social
Work. While at the university, she gained considerable experience in the inclusion
of students with disabilities in higher education. She considers it a privilege to
support students in their quest to achieve their academic and career goals.

Lise Kalla, Ed.S
Lise Kalla joined the Pre-Professional Advising Office in November 2021. She works
with pre-dental and optometry students, helping them through the process of gaining
admission to professional school. Prior to joining our office, Lise was a high school
teacher of business, computer science, and career readiness skills. Lise’s education
covers the SEC: a Bachelor of Science in Business/Marketing from Auburn University,
a Master of Public Health in Health Administration from the University of Tennessee,
and an Education Specialist in Occupational Studies from the University of Georgia.
Lise loves helping students achieve their career goals!

Taz Qadri, M.Sc.
Taz Qadri joined the Pre-Professional Advising Office in November 2018. She works
with pre-physician assistant and veterinary students helping guide them through the
process of application into physician assistant and veterinary programs. Prior to
joining the Pre-Professional Advising Office, Taz worked in Higher Education for 10
years, helping students with academic advising related to their healthcare career
paths, financial aid, and as an adjunct instructor. Taz graduated from Brock University
in Canada with a BSc. in Recreation and Leisure Studies, a BA in Education from Walden
University, and a MSc. in Human Resource Management from Walden University.

Casey Ellis, M.A.
Casey Ellis joined the Pre-Professional Advising office in October 2021. She works
with pre-allied health and nursing. She worked for the graduate school at the University
of Georgia for three years helping students wanting to continue their education. Casey
earned her master’s degree at UGA and worked as a teaching assistant during this time.
She earned her B.A. at the University of Alabama and now has two great football teams
to cheer for! Casey speaks English, Arabic, and French and has even taken pre-nursing
classes herself. She enjoys working with students of all backgrounds to further their
education.
