About Us

PPAO BannerThe Pre-Professional Advising Office at the University of Georgia (located in 130 Memorial Hall) has a strong history of support for students by helping them remain nationally competitive with other universities by providing the necessary tools and resources for admission into law, medical, dental, and optometry schools as well as allied-health and nursing programs.

The office counsels and works directly with UGA students and alumni, providing guidance with the professional school application process. The Pre-Professional Advising Office also works closely with UGA staff and faculty advisors who assist students with UGA course registration.

199 UGA students were accepted into 78 different US allopathic/MD medical schools nationwide, and approximately 70 students matriculated into 11 different osteopathic medical schools. Several have been accepted to MD-PhD programs such as Yale School of Medicine, University of Virginia School of Medicine, George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Stanford University School of Medicine, Emory University and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
