The PPAO and the Office for Student Success and Achievement (OSSA) have collaborated to offer virtual reality mock interviews, including Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs), open one-on-one interviews, and blind interviews, through the Presentation Collaboratory Center in Creative Engagement Wing located in the Miller Learning Center.

This program is an innovative VR-based interview preparation experience tailored specifically for pre-health students. The primary goal of this initiative is to give pre-health students additional exposure to professional school interview formats and meaningful opportunities to practice both before and after receiving an interview invitation from a professional school.

The VR interview experience provides application-specific practice, immersive interview simulations, and detailed feedback in a scalable format.

The program includes two VR mock interview formats:

  1. Individual Interview: This traditional one-on-one interview simulation allows students to practice answering interview questions and build confidence in a realistic interview setting. Drawing on our experience with professional school admissions interviews, we have developed customized interview questions and a comprehensive evaluation rubric that provides personalized feedback.
    • Students may choose between:
      • Blind Interview: The interviewer has no prior knowledge of the applicant’s experiences or application materials.
      • Open-File Interview: The interviewer has access to information from the applicant’s application, similar to many professional school interview processes.
        • The VR platform also allows the Work/Activities section of your application to be uploaded to create a more personalized experience that closely mirrors an actual professional school interview. After registering for an interview through either a PPAO event (see semester events below) or by scheduling directly with the Presentation Collaboratory Center, you must email [email protected] a PDF copy of only the Work and Experiences section of your professional school application. This document will be uploaded to the VR platform to support your interview simulation. Please note that by submitting this document, you are granting permission for the Work/Activities section of your application to be uploaded and used within the UGA AI VR interview program for educational and interview-preparation purposes.
  2. MMI (Multiple Mini Interview): This immersive simulation replicates the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) format commonly used by professional schools. Participants rotate through a series of stations and scenarios designed to assess critical thinking, communication, ethical reasoning, interpersonal skills, and professionalism. To support this experience, we developed eight MMI stations and corresponding assessment tools that train the avatar and generate feedback modeled after the evaluations provided during our own virtual MMI practice sessions. After registering for an MMI session, you will receive a Best Practices Guide outlining how to prepare for the experience and what to expect on the day of your interview.
